Status

At Full Capacity

The park has reached full capacity. No admittance permitted at this time. Visitors arriving at the gate will be turned away. Please check back later or check another location.

Open during operating hours

Park Status

  • Advanced reservations are available at Belfountain Conservation Area, allowing you to choose the best time to visit before you head to the park. A reservation holds your space at this popular and busy park.
  • You may book a reservation online for up to two weeks in advance. You will be required to login or create your Credit Valley Parks account to complete the booking.
  • Same day reservations are not available. First come first served parking and admission is available at the park every day when capacity allows, once it opens. Check back here for updated capacity.

Activities

  • Trout Fishing is closed for the season in Zone 16 – effective October 1st.
  • Fishing will not be permitted at Belfountain for the rest of the operating season.

Belfountain Road Work

Construction is currently taking place on Old Main Street/Mississauga Road from Caledon Mountain Drive to Bush Street, and Bush Street from Old Main Street to Shaws Creek Road in the village of Belfountain. The expected project completion date is November 2024. Until that time:

• All roads will remain open
• Delays can be expected during temporary lane closures
• Work will occur on weekdays only

To avoid construction delays:

Visitors travelling southbound on Hwy. 10 should turn right (west) at Hwy. 124 in Caledon Village, left (south) on Mississauga Rd., and right (west) on Forks of the Credit Rd.

Visitors travelling northbound on Hwy. 10  should turn left (west) at Forks of the Credit Rd.

OR

Turn left (west) at Hwy. 124 in Caledon Village, left (south) on Mississauga Rd., and right (west) on Forks of the Credit Rd. to access Belfountain Conservation Area.

Trail Status

  • While construction of the linear works for the Erin Wastewater System Project and restoration is ongoing, the trail will be closed to the public. Sections of the trail are now closed for approximately 22 months lasting until June 2025. The CVC-owned portion of the ECT between 6th Line and Trafalgar Road in Hillsburgh and the portion between 10th Line, Erin Village to Cataract Road, Town of Caledon will remain open during construction.   • Upgrades to existing Town of Erin stormwater infrastructure on the Elora Cataract Trailway will be underway shortly. Sections of the trail between the western limit of the Erin Glen Subdivision and 10th Line will be closed for approximately 5 months from May 27th to October, 2024. In addition, the parking lot located at 235 Daniel Street, Erin will be closed to vehicular parking during this time. The portion of the ECT between Main Street and Erin District High School, and the trailway East of 10th Line will remain open during construction. Facilities

  • The accessible button on the washrooms in Parking Lot P1 is out of service. The accessible button on the washroom facility in Parking Lot P4 is still functional.

Lake Conditions

  • Breezy conditions, use caution on the lake. Yellow Flag. 

Trail Status

  • Trails are a mix of dry and damp conditions. Proper footwear is recommended.

Activities

  • Shoreline fishing permitted from the southern shore; no fishing from the north shore, any bridges and the Crane Gathering Space.

Natural Playground

  • The natural playground benches are being treated with diatomaceous earth. This is a white powder that is a non-toxic treatment.

Sales and Rentals

  • Worms are available for purchase. Live bait from outside the Conservation Area is not permitted. Minnows are not available.
  • Fat Tire Bike rentals are available. Reservations can be made here.
  • Canoe and kayak rentals are available for the season. Reservations can be made here.
  • Stand-up paddleboard rentals are available for the season. Reservations can be made here.
  • Electric boats are no longer available this season due to high lake vegetation.
  • 2024 picnic reservations are available to book. Available dates range from May 4 – October 27. Reservations can be made here

    • Weekends and Holidays: 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
      • all services will be available
    • Weekdays: daylight hours
      • limited washroom facilities from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (signed on-site)
      • gatehouse, store and rentals are closed
      • paddlecraft use of the ponds is permitted
      • online admission tickets required, and can be purchased here

Trail Status

  • Region of Peel construction work on the new pump station at the Silver Birch entrance is currently underway. The trail access from Silver Birch (Station 15 on the map) is closed to the public.     • Dates and times available on weekends and holidays between October 5 and 20. Slots are available from 11 a.m. to noon and 3 to 4 p.m.
